SWA CEO Lynne Sanders Awarded Lifetime Achievement Award at the Women In Business 2019 Awards
We are delighted to announce that on Friday 11th of October Swansea Women’s Aid Chief Executive Lynne Sanders was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award at The Women in Business 2019 Award ceremony at Brangwyn Hall.
The award recognises the dedication and commitment that Lynne has shown to Swansea Women’s Aid in the 33 years she has been with the organisation. Lynne started volunteering with Swansea Women’s Aid as a refuge worker in 1986 and since then has worked as a paid refuge worker and Finance and Administration Co-ordinator before she became Chief Executive in 2010, overseeing the change from a collective to a hierarchical structure.
As well has having an unwavering passion and determination to end domestic abuse, Lynne also has over 20 years’ experience in business planning and strategic management, statutory and housing association contract management, all aspects of staff management and fundraising, budgeting and financial management. Lynne’s abundance of business experience makes her a deserving recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award from Women In Business 2019
As well as the amazing work that Lynne has done with Swansea Women’s Aid, Lynne ‘s achievement as an influential figure to other organisations and partnerships is also being recognised, including the ten years she spent as the chair of Welsh Women’s Aid. Her personal responsibility to protecting women and children is evident in the number of partnership boards, and professional bodies she engages to actively promote the issues facing survivors of Violence Against Women, Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence.
As an organisation we are absolutely delighted that Lynne’s many achievements are being rewarded. As her colleagues we recognise the hard work and dedication Lynne puts into her role on a daily basis and it is fantastic to see the huge impact that she has made to the local community be recognised and celebrated.
