We were delighted to be awarded a pass in Welsh Women's Aid National Quality Service Standards. The NQSS provide evidence that specialist services are operating within a quality framework, a strengths-based, needs-led and gender-responsive model of intervention that supports survivors and their children to build resilience and leads towards independence and freedom.
The assessor commented: "Swansea Womens Aid has clear and established values framework that underpins its work and a feminist understanding of the issue of abuse is clearly stated and published by the organisation. The organisation has evolved over time to form a strong and established, well respected local service. I have no hesitation in stating that SWA delivers an informed, committed and high-quality service to women. The staff I met were dedicated, knowledgeable and clearly passionate about the work that they do and the feedback from the service-users was glowing through all the interviews. Throughout the assessment process, SWA have shown themselves to be a forward-looking organisation looking to improve practice, service delivery and effectiveness. Users of the service spoke highly of the service they had or do receive, and of how support was delivered non judgementally, professionally and with great sensitivity and care."
