Counselling
The Women’s Aid counselling service aims to provide support for women who are experiencing difficulties due to domestic abuse, for example:
- Family Relationships
- Anxiety or stress
- Physical problems
- Depression
- Loss
- Self-esteem
The service gives women the opportunity to talk in confidence about what is troubling them. It allows them to explore their feelings with a trained counsellor. This enables problems to be seen in a clearer light and helps in making appropriate decisions where necessary.
If you are interested in this service please contact us on Tel: (01792) 644683 and we will arrange a DAISE appointment for you. After the initial meeting which will help decide if counselling is suitable, sessions are arranged between the client and the allocated counsellor.
- They are normally on a weekly basis and for 50 minutes a time.
- The counselling session will take place in the designated counselling rooms at Swansea Women’s Aid.
- Usually the counsellor will arrange to meet with you for 6 sessions and then review the need to continue.
